Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I moved to Boston when I was 2 and a 1/2 and I loved it here ever since. I've lived in Watertown, Cambridge, Randolph, Chestnut Hill, and a couple of other places I can't remember. I like DOING things....I get bored really easily..... I'm doing this because I have always been taught to love for my brothers and sisters what I love for myself; And what I love the most is having something to do that will benefit me mentally, physically, and, most importantly, spiritually so that's what I try to provide my Muslim Bostonian brothers and sisters.

A true Bostonian at heart, I was born and raised in this great city. Alhamdulilah, I have been blessed with a wonderful community, and brothers and sisters who remind me of Allah swt and encourage me to strive harder for His sake. I have been involved with MAS work for several years, and it has been a great opportunity for me to become involved in my community, while focusing on personal development. I am very action-oriented, and love turning ideas into tangible, real-life events. I hope to benefit everyone through our activities, and hope to benefit myself in the process. Aside from MAS, I enjoy drawing, painting, reading classical Arabic and Islamic literature, and all outdoor activities.

I was born and grew up in Baghdad, Iraq. I lived in Jordan for three years until I immigrated to America few years ago. I wanted to join the committee because I'm dedicated to making a positive difference in the Muslim community, inshaallah, and thought that college students really do need the deen in their life when they're away from home.

I have a pretty diverse background--I'm two-thirds Syrian, one-third Danish, but was born in Japan where I lived until I was three. I then moved to upstate New York, then Southern Massachusetts, and now I currently reside in good ol' New Hampshire.
I remember as a younger child, I was always super excited to be able to grow up so I could attend all the different retreats and events that MAS Boston planned--from camping to Plaster Fun Time, college students seemed to get all the fun! When I first attended a retreat, I was greatly impacted and learned an immense amount, so now I want to help plan all these events for others (such as yourself) to get excited to learn about Islam while being around amazing sisters and brothers in Islam, inshaAllah!!

Like my sister Huda, I hail from a Danish and Syrian background, although I was born in Denmark. Whenever people ask me where I grew up, though, I always hesitate because my family has moved around so much. Alhamdulillah I have always been interested in working with the MAS College Committee, especially since as a teenager I attended several life-changing college retreats. I hope that my small contributions to the community will encourage other youth to both join in and help out, inshaallah.

I was born and grew up in Boston all my life. I am a Syrian American. I love to play soccer and basketball, but most of all I love volunteering for everything and anything that benefits the community. That is the reason why I decided to join the MAS College Committee.

ETC

School: Baba's Academy for Teaching Multinational Academics - Nightschool
Major: Piety when Reading Ayaat and Yelling for Everyone to Read-along.
The ETC (Extremely Taqwa Concious) compose the rest of our Committee. They work in the day and pray in the night (while also fighting crime and kicking clowns out of the city). Too amazing to contain in a paragraph, the ETC operate from behind the curtains at almost every event and dedicate every minute to the service of Allah and His orders. Who are they? Well if you've been to a retreat, qiyam, or revive then you've seen some of the members of the ETC, but did you realize?! (Dramatic Duff plays in the background) The ETC are an elite squad of worshipers who attend almost every event and volunteer themselves relentlessly all the while keeping a low profile so that their actions are reflected only in the hereafter. (Make duaa that all of our efforts are accepted please!) And if you recognize an ETC....keep it to yourself!
